Painting, drawing, and writing strengthen your child's grasp and fine motor skills, which are both essential for learning to write letters and numbers legibly.
Drawing and having fun simply helps your child learn how to control the pencil, which is a big advantage at school. And it's just lovely to receive a little handwritten note from your child that says "lov yu" - and just as surprising and amusing to see the first piece of paper stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "groanups keep out". Down the line, a steady hand and a good grasp are useful for making handwritten Christmas and birthday cards.
