Christmas items and homemade decorations for children
Are you looking for Christmas goodies for children? You're in the right place. In this category, we've gathered our huge collection of children’s Christmas items.
This is where you’ll find DIY Christmas decorations for children, Christmas songbooks, ideas for holiday crafts, or an elf door for the mischievous house elf (even Christmas elves need to shut the door and retreat into their own little worlds from time to time). Or how about a Christmas journal to write down and preserve your child’s festive Christmas memories in one special book? Just like a baby memory book, but the Christmas edition.
You can also add a roll of Christmas wrapping paper to your basket while you're here. That way, you don't have to worry about running out of gift wrap when you've finally found a moment to wrap presents for the kids and Uncle Peter.
Christmas decorations and creative holiday crafts for children
When the house smells like oranges, cinnamon, and pine, and the candles are slowly burning, it's time to bring out the Christmas decorations. We have everything you need to create a cosy Christmas atmosphere with homemade decorations and quality time together.
We've put together all of our Christmas-themed toys and craft supplies in one place, so you can easily explore Christmas bead boards, tiny elf doors, creative cutout kits, and ornaments to make and decorate together. Perfect for advent calendar gifts, cosy afternoons, and little stocking stuffers and Christmas surprises.
Make your own Christmas decorations with children of all ages
Christmas crafts don’t have to be complicated. Even the youngest can join in when you’re making your own festive decorations. Make clay handprints, cut out paper reindeer, or make Christmas tree ornaments with beads and glitter. It’s not the result itself, but the process and the time spent together, that make it a joyful experience.
We have crafts that fit different age groups, from safe kits with self-adhesive parts to more advanced Christmas crafts that involve cutting, folding, and gluing. It's a good idea to go for crafts where your child can actively take part in the whole process. That way, you also have better shot at keeping up the Christmas spirit and peace on earth.
A cosy, stress-free Christmas: Fun and easy ideas, ready to go
When December arrives, there's always plenty to do. That’s why we have DIY kits and crafts that are easy and simple to get started with. No long to-do lists or stressing over half-finished projects. For example, you'll find large ready-to-use craft kits with everything you need in one box as well as smaller kits with decorations, glue, and instructions.
It's up to you whether you want something quick and simple, or a bigger project you can work on a little bit at a time every day leading up to Christmas.
Cut out Christmas ornaments, make paper garlands or clay stars, or create small Christmas baubles with beads and sequins. If you'd like to create your own DIY Christmas display or winter scene, we have beautiful miniature trees, small figurines, and decorations (they fit perfectly with the elf door, for example). If you have several children, you can make Christmas decorations in different colours or materials, and maybe give each sibling their own little Christmas project. This way, everyone gets to join in in a way that matches their abilities and interests.
DIY Christmas decorations that keep shining after December is through
Homemade Christmas decorations can be stored and brought out again year after year. That makes the whole cutting, folding, gluing, and sculpting experience even more fun and meaningful. Many of our craft kits have high-quality parts and supplies that retain their shape and colour. That means you can create decorations together that become lasting parts of your family's Christmas traditions.
And if you enjoy cutting and crafting yourself, it's lovely to share that joy with your child and create something together you can both feel proud of.
Everything in one place: Find what suits you best
In this category, we've gathered everything you need for creative Christmas fun with your child. It's easy to filter your search by age or product type, so you can quickly find the crafts that suit your family best.
From glossy craft paper and bead pegboards to miniature elf accessories and small Christmas books, we’ve made it easy for you to dive into the holiday fun.
DIY Christmas crafts for toddlers
Even toddlers can join in making homemade Christmas decorations. Let the children make clay handprints and then decorate them afterwards. Or trace the outline of one little foot and two hands. Then help your child cut out the shapes and glue them together, so the hands become reindeer antlers and the foot makes the long reindeer head - or make it into an angel with the hands as wings.
Christmas crafts for toddlers can also simply be shapes cut out of construction paper, like stars, Christmas trees, or hearts, which the kids then get to decorate with glitter, sequins, and anything else that can be sprinkled or glued on.

Easy Christmas crafts for kids
When making Christmas crafts and decorations with children, it's a great idea to choose projects that are easy to make.
Try coming up with some easy Christmas decorations kids can make themselves. Then you can always spend extra time making and decorating snowmen, stars, and pine cones (or other treasures found in nature). That makes more room for Christmas joy and peace, instead of hoping or expecting that this year, your child will be able to focus on a large-scale cutting-folding-painting-and-drying Christmas project.
You know your child, and what they would have fun with, best. Here are a few fun ideas for inspiration:
- Shape lumps of self-hardening clay, then dip the top in red paint and stick on googly eyes or draw faces with markers so they look like little elves.
- Cut out hearts from glitter paper and hang them up with striped string - a simple Christmas decoration that's beautiful but easy to make.
- Bring out the glue gun and let your child put popsicle stick skis on a reindeer figurine, or decorate inexpensive Christmas balls with beads and glitter.
Self-hardening clay is great for making various easy Christmas decorations for children of all ages. Just roll it out with a rolling pin, use a cookie/clay cutter to make shapes, and gently press beads or sequins into the clay. We have clay in several colours.

And a few more ideas for homemade Christmas decorations with your children
Is your child good at cutting with scissors? A fun paper craft is making a Christmas wreath from green construction paper by making 15-20 handprints, cutting them out, and gluing them together to make a circle. Then decorate the wreath with glitter glue, paint, glitter, beads, or pom poms (easy to attach with a glue gun), or whatever else you think is fun and festive. Hang the wreath in the window or put it on your front door (as long as it's sheltered from the weather, for example if your entrance is in a stairwell or on a covered porch).
You can make the wreath extra beautiful by using different shades of green. Perhaps a different shade for each sibling, if there are multiple children in the family.
You can also connect the green construction paper hand shapes to make a hanging Christmas tree ornament, which you can decorate with self-adhesive sequins, Christmas stickers, or glitter glue garlands.
Maybe your child prefers a more meticulous craft where their fine motor skills are put to the test and they need patience to avoid damaging paper handles, Santa beards, or reindeer antlers.
