Toy Academy respects and values your privacy. Any information you share with us will never be sold, transferred, or otherwise made available to unauthorised third parties. Your information is only accessible to Toy Academy and our trusted partners who process data on our behalf in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. We do not store any credit card details, and Toy Academy will never charge more than the amount you have approved at checkout. 

We do not record your IP address. A cookie containing your information will only be placed on your computer if you choose to let our webshop “remember” you for your next visit.

At Toy Academy, we use Google APIs to embed and play YouTube videos, such as product videos that can be viewed directly on our product pages.

We accept the following payment methods:

Your payment will only be charged once your order has been shipped from Toy Academy’s warehouse. No fees apply when paying by credit card (such as Mastercard or Visa) or with Apple Pay.

Pre-authorisation charges: When you pay with an international card, the amount will be pre-authorised immediately. The amount will be held until

1) we charge the payment when your order is shipped

or

2) the pre-authorisation is released in accordance with your card issuer’s policy.

Transaction security

All purchases and transactions at Toy Academy are secured through a multi-step verification process. This helps ensure that your payment is processed securely for you, for us, and for your bank. When you make a purchase in our webshop, the 3D Secure process may ask you to provide additional authentication to confirm your payment.

 

Delivery

We deliver to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, the Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

Toy Academy usually ships orders with PostNord/DPD and GLS, but we reserve the right to use other carriers without prior notice.

We do our best to ship your item(s) on the next business day after you place your order. If your order is urgent and you require delivery before a specific date, please contact us after placing your order. Please note that if you leave a message in the comment box at checkout, your order will need to be processed manually, which may delay shipping.

During peak season (such as Christmas or Black Friday), delivery may take slightly longer than usual.

 

Estimated delivery times

Our estimated delivery time is 2–5 business days from the day your order is placed. Please note that delivery to Switzerland and the United Kingdom may take up to 10 business days, and delivery to the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Iceland may take up to 30 business days.

Timely delivery depends on the carrier’s ability to meet their stated delivery times. This means that once your package leaves our warehouse and has been handed over to the carrier, delays may occasionally occur, especially during busy periods such as Christmas or Black Friday, when carriers handle a very high volume of parcels.

If the carrier experiences delays, your order may arrive later than the estimated delivery date. During peak seasons such as Black Friday and Christmas, delivery may be delayed by 2–4 days.

If the pickup point you selected is full, the carrier may deliver your parcel to a nearby pickup point instead. This happens most often during busy periods.

If you want to be sure your parcel is delivered near your home during busy periods, we recommend choosing home delivery or delivery to your workplace rather than a pickup point.

Delivery of large items (e.g. furniture)

Palletised Shipping for Large Items and Orders 
Orders containing large items (such as play furniture, wall panels, or similar products) that require palletised shipping will be subject to a separate shipping quote. The pallet shipping cost will typically range between €100–€200. You will receive this shipping quote for approval before your order is accepted. Palletised shipping may also apply to large orders from businesses and public institutions. We will always inform you in advance if pallet shipping is required, and your order will not be shipped without your prior approval of the additional shipping fee.

 

Promo codes, discounts, and “Great Value” items

Promo codes, coupons, and special discounts do not apply to already discounted items or items marked with the “Great Value” label.

 

Returns, refunds, and exchanges

Changed your mind?

You always have 90 days to cancel your purchase when shopping at Toy Academy. The cancellation period begins on the day you receive your item(s).

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the same payment method used when placing your order. If you would like the refund to be transferred to someone other than the original buyer, please email us and include your order number (please note that this may extend the refund process by approximately 14 days).

Your refund will be issued once we have received and inspected the returned items to ensure they meet our return requirements (for example, the packaging must be intact so the product can be resold).


Return shipping

If you choose to return an item using our prepaid return label, a return shipping fee of €5–€10 (depending on the country from which you return the item) will be deducted from your refund. Please see our shipping rates here. You can also find more details on our return form and at the end of this section.

If you are unable to obtain the return shipping label through the app, please contact our customer service at [email protected], and we will send you a return label.

You can print a return form stating the reason for your return. The form is available here. Please remember to include your order details in the return package.

You are not required to use our prepaid return label. If you prefer, you may arrange the return yourself (at your own expense) by sending the package to our office in Hoersholm or by dropping it off in person. Our address is: Toy Academy, Ved Klaedebo 12E, 2970 Hoersholm, Denmark.

 

How to get a prepaid return label

You can download your prepaid return label in the PostNord app or request one by contacting our customer service team at [email protected]. 

If you prefer to return your parcel with GLS, you can print your return label here: www.gls-returns.com/#/m/legeakademiet. You will need to enter your details and your order number, which can be found on your packing slip or invoice. The order number begins with “LSO.”

You can print the label directly from the website. It will also be sent to your email as a PDF file along with a QR code. If you are unable to print the label yourself, simply show the QR code from the email at your local GLS Parcel Shop, where the staff will print and attach the label for you. Return parcels can be dropped off at a GLS Parcel Shop or a PostNord pickup point of your choice.

Faulty or incorrect items

If you receive a faulty product or the wrong item, please contact us before returning anything, as not all complaints require the item to be returned. Please email us at [email protected] with a description of the issue. If possible, include a photo or video. We will then assess whether the item needs to be returned.

If we do ask you to return the item, we will send you a return label so you can return it free of charge.

Please remember to fill out the return form and include it in the parcel along with the item you are returning. In short, make sure two things are included: the return label on the outside of the parcel and the return form inside the parcel.

Naturally, we cover the return shipping costs for valid complaints. If you return a product that does not meet the criteria for a valid complaint, a return shipping fee of €5–€10 will be deducted from your refund.

Product returns should also be sent to the above address. Please note that we do not accept Cash on Delivery (COD) parcels. You may also return an order by refusing delivery (provided you inform us in advance) or by returning the item to our office in person.

Including additional information with your return parcel is not required, but it may help us process your return more quickly. For example, it is very helpful if you include a copy of your order confirmation, your bank details for the refund, and a copy of any previous correspondence with us.

More information about returns, refunds, and complaints

You have 90 days to cancel your purchase, starting from the day you receive your items. If you buy a toy as a gift, we are happy to extend the cancellation period within reasonable limits — just contact us first.

Please note that special items, such as custom-made or personalised products, cannot be returned.

If you have purchased an item and changed your mind, you can of course return it to our warehouse by following the instructions above for returning items and creating a return label.

If you receive a damaged or faulty item, please contact us before returning it. Once we have the details, we will let you know whether you should return the item for a replacement or keep it and receive a refund. Please do not return the item before contacting us, as damaged or faulty products should not be sent to our warehouse. Instead, they must be sent to our returns and complaints department, which requires a different return label. You can read more about complaints in the section above.

If your parcel is not collected, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to cancel your purchase or have the parcel resent. If we are unable to reach you, we will treat the uncollected parcel as a cancelled purchase, and a return shipping fee of €5–€10 (depending on the country from which the item is returned) will be deducted from your refund.

 

Cancelling an order (does not apply to complaints):

If you change your mind about an order, you cannot cancel it by simply refusing delivery without prior agreement with us. If you wish to cancel your order before you receive the parcel, please email us to let us know.

When returning a product, a return shipping fee of €5–€10 will be deducted from your refund.

How to cancel your order:

If you change your mind, please email us at [email protected] or use our standard order cancellation form, which you will find at the bottom of our Terms & Conditions. Simply print the form, fill it out, and include it in your return parcel.

Once you have completed the form or been in touch with us via email or phone, you can use the prepaid return label. The label works like a traditional postage stamp that we have already paid for. Attach the label securely to your return parcel, drop the parcel off at a drop-off point, and then simply wait for your refund.

Please note that the prepaid return label cannot be used for complaints or for returning damaged or faulty items. In those cases, please contact us.

  

Cancelling part of your order:

If you have purchased several items in one order, you can return one or more of them without cancelling the entire order. Please note that delivery costs will not be refunded if you cancel part of your order.

 

General information on cancellations and returns:

You will lose your right to cancel if you break the seal on products that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons. The same applies if you break the seal on audio or video recordings or on computer software.

You are responsible for the direct costs of returning the item. The item remains at your risk from the time of delivery, and when returning it, you must ensure that it is properly packaged. If you use our prepaid return label, a return shipping fee of €5–€10 will be deducted from your refund.

Once we have received the returned item(s), the amount paid will be refunded to your account within a few days.

Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel your order, you have 14 days to return the item(s).

Certain items cannot be returned by regular post, including special-order items.

The estimated cost of returning such items is €50–€100.

 

Condition of the item when returned

If the item has lost value because you have used it in a way that goes beyond what is necessary to determine its nature, characteristics, and function, you may only receive a partial refund. The amount refunded will depend on the item’s market value. In some cases, this may mean that only the shipping costs will be refunded.

We recommend returning the item in its original packaging.

If the original packaging is missing, this may reduce the value of the item.

 

Your refund

If you cancel your order, you will receive a refund of the amount you paid. If the item has decreased in value due to your use or handling, we will deduct the amount corresponding to the loss in value from your refund.

We will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs if you chose a delivery method other than our least expensive standard delivery option), no later than 14 days from the day we are informed that you wish to cancel your purchase.

Unless otherwise agreed, the refund will be made using the same payment method used for your purchase.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned item(s), unless you provide documentation that you have returned them.

Please note that the warehouse does not accept in-person pickups or drop-offs without prior agreement with Toy Academy. Therefore, return parcels must be shipped to the above address and cannot be delivered to the warehouse in person.

We recommend sending returns as trackable parcels. Toy Academy cannot be held responsible for items sent as letters. We also recommend using our prepaid return label, which costs €5–€10 and covers the cost of return shipping. The amount will be deducted from your refund.

 

Complaints about faulty or defective items

If you receive an item that is damaged, defective, or not working as it should, please contact us. Once we know the details, we will let you know whether we can resolve the issue, whether you should return the item for a replacement, or whether you can keep it and receive a refund. If you wish to complain about a product, please do not return it using the return label included with your order. If we agree that the item should be returned, we will email you a new return label. This is because damaged or defective products must be sent to a different location than regular returns.

In accordance with the Danish Sale of Goods Act, Toy Academy offers a 2-year statutory warranty covering manufacturing and material defects that occur during normal use of the product.

The warranty does not cover faults, damage, or normal wear and tear resulting directly or indirectly from improper use, inadequate maintenance, misuse, or unauthorised repairs or modifications.

Complaints about defects that should reasonably be discovered during a normal inspection of the item must be reported to Toy Academy within a reasonable time. If you make a complaint within two months after discovering the defect, the complaint will always be considered timely. It is your responsibility to describe and, if requested, demonstrate how the defect manifests itself. If you discover a defect, please contact Toy Academy as soon as possible. The item may then be returned for repair, replacement, or, by agreement, a refund.

If an item needs to be returned to Toy Academy in connection with a complaint, you must always contact us before returning it. If we ask for the item to be returned, we will provide a prepaid return label or arrange for collection of the item. If you return the item at your own expense without prior agreement with Toy Academy, the return shipping costs will be reimbursed to a reasonable amount. Please remember to keep your shipping receipt, as we will need it to refund your return shipping costs.

The provisions of the Danish Sale of Goods Act apply.

If your order arrives damaged

If your items have been damaged during transport, please contact Toy Academy as soon as possible at [email protected]. If your parcel appears visibly damaged upon delivery, we recommend that you either refuse to accept it or ask the courier to note possible transport damage on the delivery receipt before accepting the delivery. If you are unsure how to proceed, please contact us for further guidance. 

If you discover damage that occurred during transit after delivery, please notify us as soon as possible so we can assist you.

Nothing in the above affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

 

PriceRunner Buyer Protection

With PriceRunner Buyer Protection, you can protect your purchase up to DKK 50,000 if problems arise in connection with your order.
As a registered PriceRunner member, you are always covered by the Buyer Protection when shopping with Toy Academy. This service is free and applies to all registered, logged-in PriceRunner members.

Even if you are not already a PriceRunner member, you can still get Buyer Protection if you visited us via their site. Simply complete your registration with PriceRunner within one hour of your purchase. Becoming a PriceRunner member is free and only takes a couple of minutes. Join PriceRunner and get Buyer Protection for free here.

To be covered by Buyer Protection, your order must be addressed to you personally. The Buyer Protection compensates you if a product is defective, if a product is missing on delivery, if your delivery does not arrive, or if you receive a wrong or faulty item.

If something goes wrong with your purchase, the PriceRunner Buyer Protection covers both purchasing and shipping costs. You also receive compensation for any direct financial loss you may have suffered as a result of the issue. We record and share only the personal data necessary to deliver your order.

Your personal data is registered with Toy Academy and stored for five years, after which it is deleted.

To keep your personal data safe and secure, we only work with data processing companies located within the EU or in other countries that can ensure an adequate level of data protection.

If you believe your information is inaccurate, you have the right to have it corrected. In certain cases, we are required to delete your personal information upon your request, for example if the data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Toyacademy.com logs data for the purpose of statistical analysis. In practice, that means a data analytics tool collects information to help us understand things like how many visitors we have, where they are visiting from, from which pages they leave our website, etc.

Gift cards and gift wrapping

Gift cards

You can buy a gift card here.

When shopping with a gift card, simply add your items to the basket as you normally would. At checkout, select “Bank Transfer” as your payment method, and then send us a photo or copy of the gift card by email. Alternatively, you can mail the physical gift card to our office. Our address is: Toy Academy, Ved Klædebo 12 E, 2970 Hørsholm, Denmark. Once we have received your gift card, or a photo of it, your order will be shipped.

If your purchase exceeds the value of the gift card, we will send you a payment link for the remaining amount. Please remember to include your order number with the transfer. As soon as we receive your payment, we will ship your order.

If you do not use the full value of your gift card, we will issue a store credit for the remaining balance.

When you purchase a gift card for less than DKK 499, it costs DKK 39 to have the gift card shipped to you with PostNord. Gift cards worth DKK 499 or more are shipped free of charge to a PostNord pickup point, in accordance with our standard delivery rates.

 

Gift wrapping

Buying toys as presents? We’re happy to wrap them for you and put a lovely gift tag on the present.

From November through Christmas, we use festive holiday wrapping paper, and during the rest of the year, we use our charming kids' wrapping paper.

*Gift wrapping costs DKK 15 per present. If you prefer to wrap your gifts yourself, you can buy lovely, colourful cellophane gift bags or wrapping paper right here.

You can add gift wrapping to the items in your basket before checkout.

*Please note that gift wrapping is not available for all our items. For certain products that are very large or uniquely shaped, we estimate that the wrapping would not survive transport. Therefore, gift wrapping is not available for such items.
