It supports your child's depth perception to play ball games using their feet, hands, head, or a racket/bat. Besides, ball games may have rules, and it's good for your child to practise following and negotiating them. So, when your child persistently maintains that there's definitely NO penalty kick, or that the ball was not out of bounds, that's a learning moment right there. Playing with balls also revs up your child's proprioception - and that's a sense that cannot get overstimulated.
