The Green Bean range from the Danish toy company Dantoy is made from recycled, Nordic Swan Ecolabelled plastic from the company's own toy production.
Because Green Bean toys are made from re-melted leftover plastic, their colours may vary.
Every step of Dantoy's production is carefully monitored and approved.
Dantoy’s plastic toys are not designed to be biodegradable, as that would reduce their durability - and that wouldn't be sustainable. When resources have been used to design and package a toy, its more sustainable to ensure the toy has a long lifespan. Biodegradability makes more sense for things like food packaging, which has a shorter production process than toys and does not involve as much packaging.
That means this toy is not made to be thrown away after use. It's made to be played with for many years, passed on to other kids when your child outgrows it, and eventually recycled as hard plastic so resources aren't wasted.
