What makes this product special
Suitable for children aged 3 yrs. to 7 yrs.
With a clear set of rules, card games, board games, and dice games are clear and defined activities and present a welcome break from negotiation with others. Many children find it a relief to focus on a game with clear rules as a contrast to free play with their mates at kindergarten or school.
In addition, playing a game gives your child an opportunity to practise other important skills, such as losing. We suggest not letting your child win every single time you play. Learning how to cope with the disappointment of losing in a safe environment together with you builds resilience in your child. After all, you won't be able to protect your child from defeat and disappointment later in life when they are on their own.
The activity supports skill development and is wonderful for your child's well-being:
- Helps your child develop their fine motor skills.
- Develops hand-eye coordination, a skill we use e.g. when kicking or catching a ball that comes flying towards us in PE class, or when cutting accurately with scissors.
- Supports your child's comprehension of cause and effect. It gives your child a sense of safety when they're able to predict outcomes and understand their world.
