What makes this product special

Measures 2,4x12x0,8.
Suitable for ages 3 yrs. to 11 yrs.

Construction play is fun, a bit time consuming, and very educational. We won't get into a long dissertation on how this type of play develops your child's hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine motor skills as well as their interest in entrepreneurship and understanding of geometry.

With construction play, your child also gets real hands-on experience with problem-solving when they need to figure out how to assemble the construction so it doesn't suddenly collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of building materials makes it fun for them to concentrate. Also, it's just such a confidence boost to construct a tall, tall tower or build the world's longest marble run, or to maybe make an impressive row of dominoes and film it as it topples.

This activity strengthens essential skills which help support your child's well-being and ability to learn:

  • Helps your child improve fine motor skills.
  • Develops hand-eye coordination, a skill we rely on for example when kicking or catching a ball that comes flying towards us in PE class, or when cutting in a straight line with a pair of scissors.
  • Improves and develops your child's concentration.

Do you know KAPLA?

Kapla are simple, brilliant building blocks. They are made of pine and are extremely stable, durable, and easy to balance - and their slightly rough texture makes them easy to build with and stack. With Kapla blocks, you can build spiral staircases, tall towers, and lots of other cool things from imagination. Or you can set them up like dominoes in a neat pattern - give the first block a nudge and watch the whole thing fall in a delightful, satisfying topple.

Your child learns about cause and effect and how to deal with disappointment, if (or when) their awesome structure collapses along the way. It's a real bummer, but it's also very educational for your child to have to find solutions. Perhaps the blocks need to be closer together - or maybe it needs to be built on the dining table instead of the floor, away from wagging dog tails.
