KAPLA was born in the 1980s when a Dutch house renovator needed a way to model his dream project. He designed these planks to build miniature versions of his own home. The rest is history.

Suitable for ages 3 yrs. to 11 yrs.
Building and constructing is educational, fun, and also time consuming. We could certainly write a whole essay about how this type of play stimulates your child's hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and creativity as well as understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.
While playing, your child also gets hands-on experience with problem-solving when they need to figure out how to set up the construction so it doesn't suddenly collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of building materials makes it fun for them to concentrate. Also, it's just so satisfying to construct a tall, tall tower or build the longest marble run ever, or to maybe create a really cool domino row and film it as it topples.
The activity is wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn:

Do you know KAPLA?
Kapla designs building blocks made of pine that are very easy to balance and stack. At the same time, they are very durable and stable. Kapla blocks can be used to build surprisingly large structures. On social media, we have found the most beautiful constructions of large spiral staircases or the Eiffel Tower, made only from Kapla wooden blocks.Your child gets hands-on experience with cause and effect and how to (try to) cope with disappointment, if their awesome structure collapses along the way. It's a real bummer, but it can also teach your child to be solution-oriented. Perhaps the structure needs to be tighter - or maybe it needs to be up on a table instead of at floor level where pets and younger siblings roam.
