Doing puzzles is a good way to get better at understanding how individual pieces fit together to form a whole and envisioning where each part needs to be placed in the big picture.

Being able to register something visually and envision what's missing from a whole is important in learning math and geometry as well as understanding how sums, sentences, or even a piece of knitting, among other things, are made up of patterns and sequences.

If the puzzle has a special picture, such as time, animals, or the universe, you can help strengthen your child's vocabulary by talking about it.

Supports the development of important skills that are great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:

  • Gives your child's fine motor skills a wonderful workout.
  • Supports hand-eye coordination, a skill we rely on for example when we throw, catch, or kick the ball that comes flying at us in the playground, when we cut accurately line with a pair of scissors, or when we want to pour a glass of water without missing.
  • Helps your child be in the present moment and find peace.
