Sensory Glow Construction Blocks, 12 pcs
Beautiful blocks with a special feature: they change colour when your child turns them over.Â
They glow in soft, gentle hues, making them especially suitable for children who benefit from visual exploration — or simply for slowing the pace and enjoying a calm, unhurried play experience.
Each block uses 2 AA batteries (not included).
Your child can play intuitively with the fascinating blocks and discover how to manipulate them to create colour changes. Below are a few more ideas for enjoying the blocks together:
- Build a beautiful, magical fort
- Use them in a sensory room.Â
- Place them on the windowsill and enjoy the lovely light effects.
- Bring the small blocks into building play as space stations, superhero hideouts, or frozen Arctic worlds.
- Drape scarves over the blocks and watch the light shine through.
- Give your child a block and ask them to twist and turn it until it matches the colour of the one you’re holding.
- Use the blocks for counting games.
- Turn the blocks over, so they have different colours. Then use them for games that practise prepositions. Where is the big red block? What is behind the small yellow block? Can you line up the blocks by size — or put all the red ones on the left?Â
- Put toy figures on top of the blocks and turn it into a game: ask your child which colour the dog is standing on, or which animal is on the blue block.

Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Suitable for ages 0 mos. to 6 yrs.
This is a toy your child can just play with without first having to figure out how it works. There is no right or wrong way to play, and there are no rules your child needs to follow. The goal is simply playing and being in the present moment. At ToyAcademy, we call this type of play intuitive play. It's also called "open ended play". Let your child play by using their intuition and take the opportunity to observe what happens.
Unlike types of play which are aimed at achieving a particular result, intuitive play will most often give you fascinating insight into your child’s independent imagination, thought process, and problem-solving skills.
From a very young age, children start playing withstacking blocks or other objects on top of each other. This activity helps them learn about proportions, gravity, physics, and balance. At first, it's great fun getting the blocks to fall. But gradually, your child's motor skills become better, and they start to build block towers or begin stacking figures, toy animals, or other things. If you choose stacking blocks with numbers, your child can practise numbers and sequences while playing.
