Tangle Jr. - Tactile

A tangle is great to have on hand in many different situations. It has both rough and smooth surfaces with different bumps and textures, and it can be twisted and turned in many directions without making a sound.

Some children find it hard to sit still, concentrate, or stay focused. 

Sometimes, this is partly because the left and right sides of their brain haven't fully learned to work together yet. When you move your body while trying to concentrate on learning something new, both sides of the brain are actively engaged at the same time. Movement truly helps us learn. When we're moving, we're better at paying attention.

A tangle can also have a calming effect in stressful situations, and it's great for strengthening your child's hands and fingers.

Fidget toys have become super popular over the past few years. Previously, children would click a pen, chew on their sleeve, or doodle when they couldn’t concentrate or felt restless. Now, both children and adults fiddle with fidget toys.

Always take your child's urge to chew on or fidget with something seriously and find out what calms them best. Because giving your child a squishy, a chew necklace, or a tangle to play with if they find it hard to sit still is not a quick fix. Fidget toys can sometimes be more distracting than helpful.

Your child can also use fidget toys as a fun pastime, and there are many different kinds of fidget toys to fiddle with just for fun.
