Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Do you know Time Timer?
Your child becomes much more independent from being able to read a clock and learning to manage their own time; for instance, when guests will arrive, when to leave the house, or when it's mealtime. On the Time Timer, you can see time counting down on the dial.Time is quite abstract, so in our opinion, the Time Timer is just one of the most ingenious things we have seen in a long time. It's clear to see from on the red disc (or blue on some models) how many minutes remain. The Time Timer has no distracting audible ticks, and the coloured disc is easy to read.
You can choose between several Time Timer models. Time Timers are made as wristwatches, in large and small versions, and with different minute counts. The Time Timer is also great for adults and children with special needs. The bigger models are suitable for bigger settings or for visually impaired users. They have high colour resolution and ultra quiet timers with no audible ticking.
The idea behind the 60-minute Time Timer
The clock counts down, but it goes clockwise and the numbers also go downwards rather than up.
It's really logical. For example, when you need to set the Time Timer to 25 minutes, so your child understands 25 minutes are left of the evening before lunchboxes need to be packed and toes need to be scrubbed before bedtime, this is how it's done on the standard Time Timer:
Adjust the red disc so it covers 25 minutes. Now the dial is white from "12 o’clock" to where it normally says "35 minutes" on a clock dial – because from "35" to "12 o’clock" is 25 minutes.
The clever thing about the Time Timer is that the clock dial is reversed. On the Time Timer, it doesn't say "35" when you set the timer to 25 minutes. It logically shows "25". And the clock counts down from "25" instead of counting up from "35".
So, this means you need to adjust your standard (60 min) Time Timer to "25" when you want to count down from 25 minutes. When 5 minutes have gone by, the red disc shows 20 minutes, so it's clear to see that there are only 20 minutes left until toothbrushing time.
