Drawing, writing, and painting strengthen your child's pencil grasp and fine motor skills, which are essential for learning to write legible numbers and letters.
Drawing for fun simply helps your child learn how to control the pencil, which is very helpful for schoolwork. And it's absolutely lovely to get a little handwritten note from your child that says "lof u" - and equally surprising and amusing to see the first homemade sign stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no grone ups aloud". Down the line, a proper grasp and a well-developed handwriting are useful for making handwritten cards for Christmas and birthdays.
