Wooden Balancing Tree

Most children – and many adults – love playing games. And who can blame them? Games aren’t just about good old-fashioned fun, togetherness and quality time – many games also have the built-in benefit of supporting different kinds of learning. Most children are ready to start playing games at around three years old. By this age, they can understand that games have rules – and that sometimes you have to wait until it’s your turn.

The Balancing Tree is a fun and charming starter game, suitable for children aged 3 and up.

The idea is simple: stack the tree and the birds and try to balance everything so it doesn’t fall over. The player who succeeds wins the game.

You can change up the game by building other balancing shapes instead of the tree (see photos). And once the game is finished, the blocks also work beautifully as a decorative element in the children’s room.

Besides offering great fun for the whole family, this game is also a wonderful way for younger children to practise and develop their fine motor skills.

The Balance Tree consists of 11 stackable pieces for the tree and 6 birds.

The activity is wonderful for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

• Here, your child can sharpen their fine motor skills.
• Strengthens hand-eye coordination, which you rely on e.g. when catching, throwing, or kicking a ball that comes flying towards you in PE class, or when cutting an accurate line with scissors.

Suitable for children aged 3 yrs. to 7 yrs.

Board games, card games, and dice games are activities with clear and defined boundaries, which many children love. In contrast to wild, free play with friends at school or kindergarten, it can be nice to immerse yourself in an activity where not everything is up for negotiation - a game has rules, and that can be a relief.

Besides, playing games lets your child practice other important skills as well - such as losing. We suggest that you don't always let your child win when you play a game. Learning how to cope with losing in safe surroundings together with you helps make children robust and resilient. After all, you won't be able to protect your child from defeat and disappointment later in life when they go out on their own.
