It’s a calm activity that can help your child stay still for just six more minutes - or help them endure long car or train rides without restlessly moving about in their seat. Especially, for children who experience a lot of motor restlessness, fiddling with something that engages fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can bring a sense of calm.

You can get water-based or oil-based playdough, and each type has its own advantages. You can soften water-based playdough by adding a bit of water to it. But oil-based playdough remains soft for years.
