Talk about where food comes from, when we typically eat it, and where it goes after we swallow it. This is great for your child’s vocabulary and knowledge. Toy food is fantastic for role playing, which inspires your child to act out real-life experiences such as shopping, cooking, or being in a café.

Role play lets children copy everyday scenarios, which develops their understanding of the world around them. You can also expand your child's play opportunities by playing grocery store, maybe with little homemade signs with prices. That way, you can have fun with both letters and numbers, and your child can gain confidence in calculating prices, giving back change, or greeting customers politely.

Supports the development of important skills that really benefit your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

  • Unleash your imagination and see where playtime takes you.
  • Excellent for role play, where children practise finding their own place in the game and taking turns to lead. This benefits your child's social skills.
  • Motivates your child to practise social skills, such as being able to lose, listen, trade toys, or wait their turn, being patient and tolerant, and making an effort to read the situation.

Do you know mamamemo?

MaMaMeMo is from Denmark and was one of the first toy companies to (among other things) design play food which is familiar for children. The toys are of excellent quality, and the very wide selection includes play tents, ice cream stands, play kitchens, and more.

There is a nice little story behind the name MaMaMeMo. The name MaMaMeMo was formed from the first letters of 4 children's names: Marie, Mads, Mette, and Morten. These four children's play with MaMaMeMo play kitchens, wooden play food, bakery counters, mixers, and more was an inspiration for their parents Anne-Marie and Poul. After watching their own kids play, the couple started a mass production of these fantastic playthings and beganmarketing them around the world.
