Toy Safety Tester
This toy tester is a simple and reliable way to make sure your child can play, learn, and explore safely.Â
Learning through the mouth
From the very beginning, children are curious by nature. That curiosity drives them to explore the world in every possible way, using all their senses.Â
One of the ways children explore the world is through their sense of taste and touch inside the mouth, using their lips, tongue, and taste buds. That’s why the mouth plays such an important role in learning. In fact, as adults, we instinctively know pretty much exactly how most materials taste and feel in our mouths.
From a woolly jumper and a whisk to a snail shell (maybe even one with a surprise inside—yuck!) or a piece of chalk, most adults have an intuitive sense of how these things taste and feel. Â
Simply because, as young children, most of us put just about everything in our mouths.Â
Let your child keep their curiosity and desire to explore the world and the objects around them with their mouth. Just make sure there’s nothing around that could pose a choking hazard.
With a toy safety tester, you can check whether toys or small items in your home could be a choking hazard for children aged 0–3. Any object your child can reach may be a potential hazard if it’s small enough to get stuck in the throat and block the airway. Stay alert and use a toy tester to spot what's best to put away for now, until your child is over 3 years old.Â
How to test your child’s toys The toy tester corresponds to the size of a child’s throat. It measures 3.17 cm in diameter, 2.54 cm on the short side, and 5.71 cm on the long side.
1) Place the toy or small object inside the tester. 2) If the object fits completely inside the tester without sticking out, it poses a choking hazard. Never push or force objects into the tester. Whatever you’re testing must always be able to slide into the tester on its own, without force.
What makes this product special
Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with
