What makes this product special
Stretching, squishing, pulling, and squeezing with your hands magically boosts your child’s concentration, even though it is in fact a form of distraction. For instance, when you need to sit and pay attention to a fairy tale, it’s great to knead and play with various types of playdough, clay, or sensory slime while listening.
Your older child can make anything from three-headed aliens to queens, kings, princes, and princesses and bring their funniest ideas to life. For very young children, playdough is mainly about the sensory experience.
We carry playdough of several different colours and types and different hardness levels. Firmer playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception because it offers more resistance when played with. Among other things, firm playdough is perfect for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape better.
This activity is quiet and can help your child be still for just 5 more minutes - or help them cope with long train or car rides without fidgeting and moving around in their seat. In particular, for children who struggle with motor restlessness, fiddling with something that engages their hands, proprioception, imagination, and fine motor skills while sitting still can help them stay calm.
Oil-based playdough tends to remain soft for several years. You can soften water-based playdough by kneading a bit of water into it.
Of course, all the different types of playdough, sensory slime, and modelling clay you'll find at ToyAcademy are CE-marked and approved in accordance with current toy safety legislation - just like all our other products.
