It supports your child's depth perception to play with a ball using their feet, hands, head, or a bat/racket. Ball games may also have rules, and it's beneficial for your child to practise following and negotiating them. So, when your child firmly insists that there's absolutely NO penalty, or that the ball was NOT out of bounds, that's a learning moment. Playing ball games also gives your child's proprioception great workout - and that's a sense that cannot be overstimulated.
