Sea monkeys, also known as Aqua Dragons, are 1-2 cm long live aquatic creatures that you can hatch, grow, and care for yourself at home. The scientific name for aqua dragons/sea monkeys is Artemia Salinas, and they have lived in salty lakes and seas for millions of years, even alongside dinosaurs!.

You'll receive eggs that are dried and in a state of hibernation. The eggs wake up when you put them in clean fresh water, and then the Aqua Dragons are alive for approximately 3 months. Within just 2-3 days, the sea monkeys hatch. At first, the Aqua Dragons will be very tiny, but within a week you will be able to notice them. Among other necessities, the kit comes with plenty of food for approximately 5 months.

From then on, you need to make sure to check on them every day, also during holidays. Daily care only takes a couple of minutes, but it is essential for the health of the little Aqua Dragons. At the end of the day, Aqua Dragons/sea monkeys are living creatures. Even though they are invertebrates and not high up the food chain, as living beings they still need to be cared for with respect. That's why an adult should always be on board when a child get Aqua Dragons - just as they should be when children get a hamster or a puppy.
