What makes this product special
Suitable for ages 6 yrs. to 10 yrs.
Aqua Dragons, also known as sea monkeys, are 1-2 cm long aquatic creatures that you can hatch and raise yourself at home. Their scientific name is Artemia Salinas, and they have lived in salty lakes and seas for millions of years, even alongside dinosaurs!.
When you receive the eggs, they are dried and in a state of hibernation. The eggs come alive when you soak them in clean fresh water, and then the Aqua Dragons stay alive for approximately 3 months. Within just 2-3 days, the Aqua Dragons hatch. To begin with, the Aqua Dragons will be very tiny, but within 5-7 days you can spot them. Among other necessities, the kit comes with enough food for approximately 5 months.
Once the eggs hatch, you should be sure that someone is home every day to look after them. Daily care only takes a couple of minutes, but it is important for the well-being of the little sea monkeys . Aqua Dragons are living creatures. They may be invertebrates and low on the food chain, but as living beings they still need to be cared for with respect. For this reason, an adult should always be around to supervise when children get Aqua Dragons - just like they should be if a child get a puppy or a goldfish.
When the adult Aqua Dragons die, you can often actually manage to hatch any eggs you might have left. Follow the included instructions.
