A balance bike does not have pedals, so your child pushes the bike along with their legs while straddling it. Balance bikes are brilliant for developing your child's cross-body coordination and balance from the time they're young.
A balance bike is a great way to challenge your child without having to worry about them having too many accidents - because at all times, your child has a foot on the ground and is able to brake and keep their balance. Being able to zoom around and control their own speed (much more easily than on an ordinary bike) gives your child a feeling of being free. At the same time, you can also teach your child about left/right, understanding traffic signals, and looking out for other road users.
An ideal way to prepare for learning to ride a regular bike. Once your child has mastered the balance bike, using training wheels on their pedal bike often becomes an unnecessary middle step - because your child has already had lots of balance training.
