Balance Bike Guide – How to measure your child’s inseam
Knowing your child’s inseam matters when choosing the right balance bike. Measuring it is quick and easy.Learn how on our Smart Through Play blog.Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Suitable for ages 1 yr. to 8 yrs.A balance bike doesn’t have pedals, so your child pushes the bike along with their legs while straddling the bike. Balance bikes are great for strengthening your child's cross-body coordination and balance from a young age.
Being able to control their speed much more easily than on a normal bike gives your child a sense of freedom. At the same time, you can also teach your child about traffic signals, left/right, and being considerate of other road users. A balance bike is a great way to challenge your child without them experiencing too many accidents - because at all times, your child has a foot on the ground and can easily regain balance or stop the bike.
A wonderful way to prepare for learning to ride a pedal bike. Once your child is confident on the balance bike, putting training wheels on their pedal bike often becomes a redundant middle step - because balance is not a problem for your child.
Scooters are a perfect way for children to improve their balance and gross motor skills while simultaneously getting plenty of fresh air, exercise, and speed. As a bonus, scooters are easy to bring with you anywhere you go - and some of our scooters are even foldable.
Bigger children can zip around on scooters with two wheels, or trick scooters, while the youngest ones can start by practising on three wheels.
