For some children, cars and vehicles with small or huge wheels are the ultimate toys to sleep with at night, talk about, play with, and dream about. And cars are surely some of the most delightful toys around that can get the job done, drive around, and maybe even make cool sounds.

Cars help sick people to the hospital, transport everything from cornflakes to tennis balls and sunglasses, take tourists to the Harz, and drive astronauts around on the Moon.

Playing with toy cars and vehicles can involve breakneck races, dramatic rescue missions, or calm repetitive games where the cars need to be refuelled or roll around the parking garage over and over. And it can be exciting scientific play involving motor skills and propulsion or a magical type of role play, with friends or alone.

Construction play is fun, a bit time consuming, and very educational. We'll leave out a long and tedious piece about how this type of play benefits your child's hand-eye coordination, creativity, and fine motor skills as well as understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.

With construction play, your child also gets practical experience with problem-solving when it comes to figuring out how to build the construction so it doesn't suddenly collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of pieces, blocks, and other building materials stimulates their imagination. Also, it's just such a confidence boost to construct a tall, tall tower or build the longest marble run ever, or to maybe create a really cool domino field and film it as it topples.
