Drawing for fun simply helps your child gain better control of the pencil, which is a big advantage for schoolwork. And it's just lovely to receive a little handwritten letter from your child that says "lov u" - and just as surprising and amusing to notice the first homemade sign stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "groanups keep out". Later on, it’s time for more challenging writing projects such as handwritten cards for Christmas and birthdays – made possible by a steady hand and a good grasp.
