Suitable for ages 2 yrs. to 3 yrs.
Doing puzzles together strengthens your child's patience and fine motor skills. Also, putting the pieces in place is a fun way to get better at understanding how the pieces fit together to form a whole and figuring out where each piece needs to be placed in the big picture.
Being able to register something visually and envision what's missing from a whole is an important skill for learning math and geometry as well as comprehending how sums, sentences, or a piece of knitting, among other things, consist of patterns and sequences.
If the puzzle has a special topic, such as animals, anatomy, or geography, you can expand your child's vocabulary by talking about it while doing the puzzle.
