Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

What makes this product special
Many children love games with clear and defined rules. In contrast to wild, free play with friends at school or kindergarten, it can be nice to immerse yourself in an activity where not everything is up for negotiation - a game has rules, and that can be a relief.
In addition, playing a game gives your child an opportunity to practise other important skills, such as losing. We recommend not letting your child win the game every single time. Learning how to handle losing in a safe setting with you makes your child resilient. After all, you will not be there to shield your child from disappointment and defeat later in life when they have to handle situations on their own.
The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:
- This type of play engages your child's depth perception.
- Supports hand-eye coordination, a skill we use for example when cutting with scissors, pouring a glass of water without spilling and making a mess, or when kicking or catching the ball that comes flying at us in the playground.
- Develops your child's proprioception, which helps them build the confidence to use their body through active play and benefits their concentration.
