What makes this product special
Squishing, pulling, patting, squeezing, and stretching with your hands magically sharpens your child’s concentration, even though it is really a form of distraction. For example, when you need to sit still and pay attention to a story, it’s fun to knead and fiddle with various types of clay, playdough, or sensory slime while listening.
For the littlest ones, playdough is mostly about the sensory experience. And older children can use playdough to bring their wildest ideas to life. Your child can make anything from fierce dragons to princesses and knights.
We carry playdough of many different types and colours and different firmness levels. Firmer playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception because it offers more resistance when played with. For instance, firm playdough is ideal for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape better.
It’s a calm activity that can help your child be still for just 7 more minutes - or help them cope with long car or train rides without restlessly moving about in their seat. Particularly, for children who struggle with motor restlessness, fiddling with something that engages fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can create a sense of calm.
Oil-based playdough tends to remain soft for several years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding a bit of water to it.
Naturally, all the different types of playdough, sensory slime, and modelling clay we sell at ToyAcademy are CE-marked and approved in accordance with current toy safety regulations - just like all our other products.
