Toys for learning through play
Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Constructing and building is very educational, very fun, and a bit time consuming. We could very easily write a long book about how building and construction play supports your child's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity as well as their interest in entrepreneurship and understanding of geometry.
With construction play, your child also gets real hands-on experience with solving problems as they figure out how to design the construction so it doesn't suddenly collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of pieces, blocks, and other building materials develops their imagination and patience. Also, it's just so cool and satisfying to construct a tall, tall tower or build the longest marble run ever, or to create an amazing domino track and film it when it topples.
Develops important skills that really benefit your child's well-being and learning ability:
- This type of play helps your child improve their depth perception skills. For instance, this will help your child cycle or walk in traffic safely. "How fast are others coming towards me?" suddenly becomes a bit easier to assess.
- Develops hand-eye coordination, a skill we use for example when cutting a straight line with scissors, pouring water into a glass without spilling and making a mess, or when catching, throwing, or kicking the ball that comes flying towards us in PE class.
- Supports your child's proprioception, which is also known as the body awareness sense or the kinesthetic sense.
