And it's absolutely lovely to get a little handwritten note from your child that says "lofe u" - and equally surprising and amusing to come across the first piece of paper stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "groanups keep out". Down the line, a secure grasp and a trained writing hand are useful for handwritten Christmas and birthday cards.
