Playing with hand puppets lets your child practise telling and understanding a story with a beginning and an end. This is an important skill which can be practised by telling a story again and again.
Physical props can be a great help in teaching children to understand stories and storytelling. With hand puppets, your child can experiment with telling stories. Also, they're a really nice way to make a story or fairy tale come alive. The storyteller does not get hidden away behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the little listeners, who can actively participate in the story instead of just listening passively.
