Play with hand puppets allows your child to practise understanding and telling a story with a beginning and an end. This is a useful skill which can be developed by telling a story again and again and preferably talking about it along the way, asking questions, and adding your own touch to the story.
Physical props can be a great help in teaching children to understand stories and storytelling. Hand puppets let children play with telling stories. In addition, they're a very good way to bring a fairy tale or story to life. The reader telling the story does not get hidden behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the little listeners, who can actively participate in the story instead of just listening passively.
Hand puppets are great to use together at home and in nurseries and preschools – or for people with dementia or special needs.
