Play with hand puppets lets your child practise understanding and telling a story with a beginning and an end. This is a very important skill which can be developed by telling a story again and again.
When children are learning to understand stories, physical props can be very useful. A hand puppet allows your child play with telling stories. In addition, they're a really good way to bring storytelling to life. The storyteller does not get hidden away behind a book but gets to be active and in close contact with the little listeners, who get to be actively participating children instead of passive children.
Hand puppets are great to use at home with your child and in childcare centres – or for people with special needs or dementia.
The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:
