Play with hand puppets lets your child practise telling and understanding a story with a beginning and an end. This is a useful skill which can be practised by talking about a story while you're telling it, and telling it over and over.
Hand puppets can make a story or fairy tale come alive. The storyteller does not get hidden behind a book but gets to be active and in contact with the little listeners, who get to be actively participating children instead of passive children.
