When your child plays with a ball using their feet, hands, head, or a bat/racket, their depth perception is strengthened. Ball games may also have rules, and it's beneficial for your child to practise following and negotiating them. So, when your child firmly insists that there's absolutely NO penalty, or that the ball was not out of bounds, you can definitely celebrate - that's a learning moment. Playing ball also revs up your child's proprioception - and that's a sense that cannot be overstimulated.
