Your child's construction play with all sorts of magnets, building blocks, or pieces makes it fun for them to concentrate. And it's just so cool and satisfying to build the longest marble run ever or construct a skyscraper higher than yourself, or to maybe make a super cool domino field and film it as it topples.

Your child will learn about cause and effect and how to cope with defeat (or at least try to), if (or when) their awesome structure comes crashing down. It's such a bummer, but it also motivates your child to come up with solutions. Perhaps the construction needs to be tighter - or maybe it needs to be up on a table instead of at floor level where pets and younger siblings roam.
