What makes this product special

The Zicklein climbing triangle can be adjusted to stand at an acute, obtuse, or right angle. This means that all children, regardless of confidence level and gross motor skills, can join in, and their play can evolve over time.

The climbing triangle is a wonderful toy in so many ways. You can climb over or under it, use it as a ladder or a hurdle for an obstacle course, or turn it into a secret hideaway or a spooky underground cave (whatever your child can do with their imagination and a big blanket).

The Zicklein is a fun and versatile piece of play equipment, and you can combine it with a Kletterling slide or climbing arch.

The activity helps your child develop skills and is great for your child's well-being:

  • Great for getting your child's body moving, which in turn boosts their gross motor skills.
  • Invites your child to express themselves and get to know their body.
  • This is a way for your child to enhance their proprioception, which increases your child's confidence to use their body in other types of physical play and benefits their concentration.

Is your child starting to practise crawling or taking their first steps? Then go check out Toy Academy's inspiring "Crawling & Walking" category. Some toys are for babies, while others will grow with your child and bring several years of fun and educational play. Regardless, all our toys will motivate your little one to experiment with crawling and, next, to walk.

Let your child play without first having to think about how the toy works. There is no wrong or right way to play, and there are no rules dictating what your child should do. The goal is simply playing and being in the present moment. We at Toy Academy call this type of play intuitive play. It's also referred to as "open ended play". We recommend that you seize the opportunity to notice what happens when your child plays in ways that let them use their intuition.

Unlike types of play which focus on achieving a particular result, intuitive play will often give you interesting insight into your child’s independent imagination, thought process, and problem-solving skills.

Motor skills furniture is the complete opposite of sitting still and staying calm. Being able to rock and roll (literally) can in fact help children with motor restlessness keep calm. Your child's vestibular sense and proprioception need input to function well. And when your child's need for sensory input is met, the body can relax and function better.

Motor skills furniture from Toy Academy is robust and can withstand years of use.

Do you know Kletterling?

Kletterling is an incredible toy company - when it comes to producing motor skills toys that are fantastic and completely safe to play with, protecting the environment as much as possible, as well as taking social responsibility. The German family who own and design Kletterling work closely with a Latvian family who own a carpentry shop. Together, the families turn birch wood from Latvia and screws from Denmark into toys with minimal environmental impact.

The glue is organic lignin. Lignin is a natural adhesive which is found in plants and binds plant fibers together. The wood is neither varnished nor painted, so your child can touch and feel the wood's bare, smooth surface. The carpentry shop in Latvia was chosen because of a desire to actively support a socially responsible company and create economic growth in a country that needs it.

If the surface gets marks or scratches, you can gently sand it with some fine grit sandpaper. Kletterling toys are for indoor play.
