This cute baby puzzle with lots of different animal pieces is a lovely starting point for talking about animals, and about what goes on top, in the middle, and at the bottom.

You can also chat about the different geometric shapes of the animals. 

The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:

Doing puzzles is a good way to get better at understanding how parts fit together to form a whole and figuring out where each part needs to be placed in the big picture.

Being able to perceive something visually and envision a whole (and what parts are missing) is an important skill for learning math and geometry as well as comprehending how sums, sentences, or a piece of knitting, among other things, consist of sequences and patterns.

A puzzle often has a special topic or theme, which you can talk about while you place the pieces. This is a great way to expand your child's vocabulary.
