Doing puzzles together develops your child's patience and fine motor skills. Besides, placing the pieces is a fun way to get better at understanding how parts fit together to form a whole and figuring out where each part belongs in the big picture.

Being able to register something visually (using our eyes) and envision a whole (and what parts are missing) is an important skill in learning geometry and math as well as understanding how sums, sentences, or even a piece of knitting, among other things, are constructed of sequences and patterns.

If the puzzle has a special picture, such as anatomy, jungle animals, or flags of the world, you can talk about it and strengthen your child's vocabulary while you're placing the pieces.
