Learn to Sew - Make Your Own Animal Keyrings

Item No: 1136-977845
Fine motor skills
Hand-eye coordination
Immersion and relaxation

Learn to sew two cute little animal friends and turn them into keyrings.

Which one will you make first, the bear or the frog?

Print out the template and cut the felt pieces to match. Then it’s time to start stitching on the details. Add the eyes, and use small beads for the nose, mouth, and cheeks. This is where each little character really comes to life. Don’t forget to stuff them before sewing them completely shut, or they’ll end up flat as pancakes.

Finally, attach the keyring. Maybe the bear goes on the backpack, while the frog clips onto the pencil case?

These are easy little projects that quickly turn into something your child will be proud to show off.

A great first sewing project to enjoy together, where you can follow the process from separate pieces to finished little characters.

Set includes:

  • Felt
  • Embroidery thread
  • Stuffing
  • Needle
  • Googly eyes
  • Plastic beads
  • Keyring

Wind down while letting your fingers and creativity play. Creative toys inspire your child to let their imagination roam and concentrate on making something beautiful - and all the while, their fine motor skills are developed.

You’ll find all our toys for creative play right here.

The activity is great for your child's well-being and ability to learn:

  • Develops your child's fine motor skills.
  • Time for relaxation and immersion.
  • Supports hand-eye coordination, a skill we rely on e.g. when we throw, kick, or catch a ball that comes flying at us in PE class, when we cut accurately line with a pair of scissors, or when we need to pour water into a glass without spilling and making a mess.
