Logic Game - KAPLA Challenge

This activity develops important skills which are great for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

Constructing and building is very educational, very fun, and a bit time consuming. We could certainly write a long book about how building and construction play benefits your child's creativity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills as well as their understanding of geometry and interest in entrepreneurship.

With this type of play, your child also gets real hands-on experience with solving problems when it comes to figuring out how to assemble the construction so it doesn't collapse. Your child's construction play with all sorts of building materials develops their patience. And it's just so satisfying to build the longest marble run ever or construct a skyscraper higher than yourself, or to maybe create a really cool domino row and film it as it topples.

Logic games are a fun and engaging way to pass travel or waiting time — and best of all, no screens required. They're excellent brain workouts, cleverly disguised as fun. You can play alone or crack the puzzles together. With clear, structured rules, logic games are also a wonderful choice for children and adults with special needs.

Unlike our other muscles, it won’t grow bigger from protein shakes or weightlifting — but when you turn up the challenge, it becomes more adept at solving problems. Becoming sharper at remembering, combining ideas, and figuring out logical solutions is the foundation of brain training — just like running drills are the foundation of a soccer player’s physical training.

Kapla are simple, brilliant building blocks. They are made of pine and are very easy to balance, stable, and durable - and their slightly rough texture makes them easy to stack and build with. You can build surprisingly large structures with Kapla blocks. On social media, we have been captivated by the most incredible constructions of large spiral staircases or the Eiffel Tower, made only from Kapla wooden blocks.

Your child will learn about cause and effect and how to cope with defeat (or at least try to), if their awesome structure comes crashing down. It's super frustrating, but it's also very educational for your child to have to find solutions. Perhaps the structure needs to be tighter - or maybe it needs to be built on the dining table instead of the floor, away from wagging dog tails.
