Mama and Papa Mouse were happy to welcome their cute twins to the world. But, although some mice have whole litters of mouse babies, Mama and Papa Mouse soon found they had their paws full with "only" two tiny mice.

Luckily, Uncle Mouse, who's a carpenter at Nibble & Nail Carpentry, came to the rescue and crafted this clever matchbox bed for the twins, and Auntie Mouse sewed the cutest, softest bedding.

Now the two baby mice are sleeping sweetly side by side while Mama and Papa Mouse are taking a well-deserved break.

Role play is an important part of your child's development, because role play strengthens your child’s ability to think creatively in terms of their own identity. What can I do as a knight or a dragon? How does a gardener or a horse talk? Such thoughts strengthen your child's social skills. Through role playing, your child is able to test rules, boundaries, and opportunities for identity formation and social interaction, and this supports their sense of the world around them.

Supports important skills that are great for your child's well-being and learning ability:

  • Wonderful for developing your child's sense of empathy.
  • In role play, your child recreates everyday situations through play, imitates us adults, and creates their own universe.
  • Strengthens social skills, which, according to childcare professionals and teachers, are more important for students to practise than learning letters and numbers.

Do you know Maileg?

Maileg was created in 1999 by Dorthe og Erik Mailil, who set out to make durable toys with personality and soul as a counterbalance plastic toys and fast trends. The name Maileg is made up of the Danish word for ""play"" and the founders' surname. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg creates animal figures, Christmas elves, and accessories full of Nordic simplicity and ""hygge"".

Maileg's dollhouses, mice, and elves are made with immersive, calm play in mind. It's all about imagining worlds and telling stories with toys whose quality and appearance will last through years of play. Your child gets to form a close, heartfelt bond with their toys and the charming little mice and elves.

Maileg emphasises high quality in the details and materials of their toys. Their designs speak to both young and old playful souls. Not all Maileg products are meant to be played with - some of the elves, mice, and other figurines are purely decorative. But the Maileg universe is so great at sparking the imaginations of children and other playful souls that we're happy to offer even the more delicate, display-only pieces to our customers regardless.
