Maileg was started in 1999 by Erik og Dorthe Mailil, who set out to design durable toys with lots of soul and personality as a counterbalance to fast trends and throw-away culture. The name Maileg is a mix of the Danish word for ""play"" and the founders' surname. Based in Herning, Denmark, Maileg makes toy figures and accessories full of ""hygge"" and Scandinavian design.Maileg's elves, mice, and figures are made with slow, calm play in mind. It's all about creating worlds and telling stories with toys whose appearance and quality will last through years of play. Your child gets to form a close, heartfelt bond with their toys and the adorable little mice and elves.
Maileg puts a strong focus on high quality in the details and materials of their toys. Their designs speak to both young and old playful souls.
