If you want to get your little knowledge-seeker a microscope, remember that price and quality most often go hand in hand. So it's a good idea to think about what you and your child would like to look at under the microscope.

It’s fun and educational to observe a fly or a dead spider way up close, and you can easily do that with a simple microscope. But if you are planning to examine the contents of a drop of blood under the microscope, we recommend that you choose a microscope for children which has over 400x magnification. It’s a higher price bracket than simpler microscopes, but your child will have amazing "aha” moments.
