What makes this product special

Here’s a set of modelling clay in the four basic colours: red, blue, yellow, and green.

This modelling clay from Djeco is approved for children from 18 months and made from ingredients that are safe if your child decides to have a little sample. The modelling clay is very salty (yuck!), so it definitely doesn’t make a good snack. But a little taste and some finger-licking during playtime are perfectly safe.

It’s a good idea to stay close by when your little one is playing with the modelling clay, just in case they unexpectedly develop a taste for ocean-level salty treats.

The modelling clay is soft and doesn’t dry out easily. Still, remember to put it back in the tubs and close the lids properly after use. This prevents drying out and also helps avoid surprise clay blobs on the wall after leaving your little one unattended for a moment.

Here, important skills are engaged, which are great for your child's well-being and ability to learn new things:

  • Here, your child can improve their fine motor skills.
  • Wonderful for stimulating your child's visual perception.
  • Your child can train their sense of touch, which supports your child's well-being.

Suitable for ages 18 mos. to 5 yrs.

Squishing, pulling, patting, squeezing, and stretching with your hands magically improves your child’s concentration, even though it is really a type of distraction. For example, when you need to sit and pay attention to a story, it’s wonderful to knead and play with different types of clay, playdough, or sensory slime while listening.

With playdough, your bigger kid can make anything from pink elephants with spots to knights and princesses and bring their wildest ideas to life. For very young children, playdough is mainly about the sensory experience.

We carry playdough of several different types and colours and with different hardness levels. Firm playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception by providing a bit more resistance. For example, firm playdough is perfect for making stop motion movies, because the shape holds better.

This activity is quiet and can help your child stay still for just 5 more minutes - or help them deal with long train or car rides without restlessly moving around in their seat. Particularly, for children who experience motor restlessness, playing with something that stimulates fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can help them stay calm.

Oil-based playdough stays soft for years. You can soften water-based playdough by kneading a bit of water into it.

Of course, all the different types of playdough, sensory slime, and modeling clay from Toy Academy have CE-marking and are approved in accordance with current toy safety regulations - just like all our other products.
