For instance, when your child needs to sit and pay attention to a story, it’s wonderful to knead and squeeze various types of playdough, clay, or sensory slime while listening. It magically sharpens your child’s concentration, even though it is actually a form of distraction.

Playdough lets your bigger child make anything from cats with four heads to knights and princesses and bring their funniest ideas to life. For the littlest ones, playdough is mainly about the sensory experience.

We carry playdough of many different colours and types and with different hardness levels. Firm playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception by providing a bit more resistance. Among other things, firm playdough is great for making stop motion movies, because it holds its shape better.

It’s a calm activity that can help your child sit still for just 7 more minutes - or help them endure long car or train rides without wiggling about in their seat. Especially, for children who experience motor restlessness, fiddling with something that engages fine motor skills, hands, imagination, and proprioception while sitting still can help them calm down.

Oil-based playdough tends to stay soft for years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water.
