Modelling Clay with Cutters & Tools (from 18 mos)
The set includes 19 pieces in total: 4 tubs of soft modelling clay 4 tools (incl. a rolling pin) 10 moulds.
Create a whole zoo, or simply enjoy squishing the clay and pressing it into fun shapes and patterns using the included tools.
This set of modelling clay is approved for children from 18 months. It’s made from natural ingredients and safe if your little one decides to sneak a taste. The modelling clay is very salty (yuck!), so it definitely doesn’t make a good snack. But a little taste and some finger-licking during playtime are perfectly safe.
It’s a good idea to stay close by when your little one is playing with the modelling clay, just in case they unexpectedly develop a taste for ocean-level salty treats.
For young children, playing with modelling clay is mostly about the sensory experience. Feeling the clay between their fingers and realising they can shape it themselves is a very special, and very satisfying, discovery for little ones.
As children get a little older, they start using their imagination and growing understanding to model the clay into familiar things and animals, or into entirely new creatures dreamed up along the way.
With this modelling clay, you can relax and let your child play to their heart’s content. Modelling clay invites open-ended, imaginative play, especially once your little one has grown out of the tasting-everything phase.Â

Play is essential for children’s learning, well-being, and development. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them.
Play helps children:
• stay curious
• focus and become absorbed in what they're doing
• take on age-appropriate challenges
• build confidence
We believe children learn best by doing things for themselves:
• by making mistakes
• by getting messy
• by falling down and getting back up again
Resilience, confidence, and courage grow through experience, one small step at a time.
That's why we carefully choose toys that encourage independence, imagination, movement, and social skills — offering just the right balance of support, freedom, and opportunities to grow.
Carefully selected toys
We carefully handpick every toy from the vast world of toys available today. The only toys that make it into our range are ones we'd be happy to give our own children.
Every toy at ToyAcademy should:
• support learning through play
• be made from durable, high-quality materials
• be safe and enjoyable for children to play with

Suitable for ages 18 mos. to 5 yrs.Squishing, pulling, patting, squeezing, and stretching with your hands magically boosts your child’s concentration, even though it is actually a type of distraction. For instance, when your child needs to sit and pay attention to a story, it’s fun to knead and play with various kinds of clay, playdough, or sensory slime while listening.
Playdough lets your bigger child make anything from cats with four heads to princesses and knights and bring their craziest ideas to life. For the littlest ones, playdough is mostly about the sensory experience.
We carry playdough of many different colours and types and with different firmness levels. Firmer playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception because it offers more resistance when played with. For instance, firm playdough is very suitable for making stop motion movies, because the shape holds well.
It’s a calm activity that can help your child stay still for just 7 more minutes - or help them endure long car or train rides without wiggling around in their seat. Especially, for children who experience motor restlessness, playing with something that activates proprioception, hands, fine motor skills, and imagination while sitting still can help them stay calm.
Oil-based playdough remains soft for several years. You can soften water-based playdough by adding in a bit of water.
Of course, all the different types of playdough, sensory slime, and modelling clay we sell at ToyAcademy are CE-marked and approved in accordance with current toy safety regulations - just like all our other toys.
