Drawing, writing, and painting strengthen your child's fine motor skills and pencil grasp, which are both necessary skills for learning to write numbers and letters.
Drawing and having fun simply helps your child learn how to control the pencil, which is a big advantage for schoolwork. And it's just lovely to get a little handwritten letter from your child that says "lofe yu" - and equally surprising and amusing to see the first homemade sign stuck to the door of your child’s room that says "no grone ups aloud". Later on, it’s time for slightly more challenging writing projects such as handwritten cards for Christmas and birthdays – both made possible by a good grasp and a steady handwriting.
