The modelling clay is extremely salty, so children won’t want to eat it. That’s why we recommend this modelling clay set for little ones as young as 1. 

However, an adult should always be present when young children play with modelling clay. 

Put the lids back on the tubs after use to keep the clay soft for longer.

We carry playdough of many different colours and types and different firmness levels. Firm playdough stimulates your child’s proprioception by providing a bit more resistance. For example, firm playdough is great for making stop motion movies, because the shape holds well.

It’s a quiet activity that can help your child sit still for just 5 more minutes - or help them endure long train or car rides without restlessly wiggling around in their seat. Especially, for children who experience a lot of motor restlessness, playing with something that activates their hands, proprioception, imagination, and fine motor skills while sitting still can help them calm down.

Playdough can be either water-based or oil-based, and each type has its own advantages. You can soften water-based playdough by adding a bit of water to it. But oil-based playdough remains soft for several years.
