These huge XL Polydrons are four times larger than Giant Polydrons. That's about as big as it gets - at least to our knowledge.
Imagine the fun of building castles, cars, tunnels, and boats - as easy as pie. And not just tiny versions, but big enough that your child can play inside them afterwards. 

The large construction shapes invite your child to crawl inside, go around, put the pieces together, and stretch up on their tiptoes to put a roof on their playhouse or a top on their tower. Crawling inside the structures to peek out, building tunnels to wriggle through, or competing to build the tallest tower all help develop your child's proprioception.

We often associate building blocks with quiet sit-down play, but with Polydron XL, your child needs to be on their feet and actively move their body as they put the shapes together. When your children play with this fantastic set, which is also very suitable for professional use, they learn about geometry and symmetry without even realising it.

Once the pieces have been put together, the constructions are quite sturdy. So you can leave your project overnight and come back to it the next day. Unless it’s super windy, your outdoor creations will usually stand strong overnight.
Working on projects together is also a great way for children to develop their collaboration and communication skills. When working as a group, they'll have to share the pieces and agree on where to place them. Polydron XL is compatible with Giant Polydron and all Giant add-ons.

The pieces have bumps on one side, so children can tell the shapes apart by feeling them - great for their tactile sense. Another feature is that the insides of the Polydron pieces have (English) braille markings, which gives children another way of exploring and recognising the shapes.

The plastic is lightweight, so it won't hurt if a piece falls on your head. However, the pieces aren’t too light - the wind won't carry off your creation on a breezy day at the playground. 

Polydron XL can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and a bit of mild soap. You can also disinfect the pieces.

You can absolutely let the kids play with Polydron XL outdoors. The pieces are made of HDPE plastic, which is UV-resistant and resistant to cold and moisture. HDPE is also used to make recyclable bottles. Polydron recommends that you keep your Polydron XL out of direct sunlight - but the pieces can definitely be left outside in the shade.
